Course Information

This programme will provide you with expertise in working in an international business environment. Study modules include: Economics for the Global Service Industry, Transportation: The Airline and Cruising Industry, Sustainable Tourism in the Developing World. Additionally, you will be offered to follow one of the specialized pathways: Hospitality and Food and Beverage pathway or Tourism and Events Management pathway. This is to make sure you specialize in the area of studies in which you will be looking for future employment and dedicating your career goals.

This programme is awarded by the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), an institution that has been ranked 13th out of all UK universities in The Guardian League Tables 2020 and ranked 7th in business, marketing and management (The Guardian League Tables 2021).

Learning format

This bachelor’s degree programme requires you to choose between the three or four-year International Route. The four-year route will include an additional foundation year helping you to develop core knowledge of creative business and management as well as solid preparation of using English in academic work.

Knowledge of the tourism and hospitality industry will be built through lectures, discussions and self-study. Practical skills will be built during class visits.

 

Entry requirements

Foundation (International Route):

  • Minimum age 17 (titles awarded upon completion of at least 11 years of schooling)
  • Academic Qualifications ECCTIS UK equivalent to GCSE
  • English Language requirements Official English Tests IELTS – minimum OS 5.0 (with min 4.5 in each component); Password test – minimum OS 5.0 (with min 4.5 in each component) PTE (Academic) – minimum OS of 46 (with min 41 in each component); LanguageCert International ESOL SELT OS B1 Achiever High Pass Duolingo test with an overall score of 95+ .

BA (Hons):

  • Minimum age: 18 years old (titles awarded upon completion of at least 12 years of schooling)
  • Academic Qualifications: a school leaving certificate that allows you to pursue higher education in Germany (e.g. Abitur, Fachhochschulreife, Matura or International Baccalaureate), or International school leaving certificates, or BTEC/National Diploma, or Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education. If you do not meet the above academic requirements, applicants with professional qualifications and/or 4 or more years of full-time work experience will be considered on an individual basis
  • English language requirements:  Official English Tests IELTS – minimum OS 6.0 (with min 5.5 in each component); Password test – minimum OS 6.0 (with min 5.5 in each component); PTE (Academic) – minimum OS of 56 ( with min 51 in each component); TOEFL IBT OS 80 (Listening 17, Reading 18, Speaking 20, Writing 17); Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency OS 69 (min 162 in each component) LanguageCert International ESOL SELT OS B2 Communicator High Pass (min 33 in each component) Duolingo test with an overall score of 105.
