This LLM Company Law programme is an innovative, flexible course designed for both law and non-law graduates wishing to gain essential in-depth knowledge of Company Law in Practice. This programme will equip you with skills allowing you to undertake a career in a global corporation or will offer support towards providing you with more detailed knowledge on how corporate law works in practice.

This LLM Company Law programme is an innovative, flexible course designed for both law and non-law graduates wishing to gain essential in-depth knowledge of Company Law in Practice. This programme will equip you with skills allowing you to undertake a career in a global corporation or will offer support towards providing you with more detailed knowledge on how corporate law works in practice.
The award-linked module for this programme - Company Law and Compliance, will concentrate on such aspects of company law as formation and incorporation, legal personality, directors’ duties, minority shareholder protection mechanisms, shares and insolvency.
Through this programme you will be able to put company law into context, enabling you to learn how to apply complex theoretical concepts to real world client situations.
Apart from traditional modules, this programme offers a two-week long induction to the programme that discusses the Key Principles of the English Legal System. As much as this is a compulsory step for non-law students, it can serve as a refresher of fundamentals of law to all interested students especially ones who took a break from legal education.
In preparation to the concluding element of this programme, which is the dissertation, you will study a range of compulsory and further optional Research Methods Training sessions in your first three terms.
This programme can be taken in a full-time mode taking 12 months, or a part-time mode taking 24 months.
In order to qualify for the programme, students need to meet the following criteria:
- possess a UK bachelor’s degree in any subject at 2:2 or above or equivalent qualifications.
- non-law students must complete a compulsory two week induction covering the Key Principles of the English Legal System, unless they can evidence the successful completion of an LLB (or equivalent) or a minimum of 3 legal modules worth at least 80 QCF credits, which must include - English Legal System, Contract Law and Law of Tort.
