Academic practice is the term used to define any work that uncovers, researches, teaches information, knowledge, and learning materials and contributes towards providing better standards of knowledge. Becoming an academic practitioner thus a researcher, higher education and university lecturer, a professor, a teacher or an analyst require effective teaching abilities. This programme has been created for those who wish to enhance their academic practice and develop their teaching career or advance teaching methods and techniques.

Postgraduate Certificate Academic Practice was designed by The University of Liverpool in collaboration with Advance HE, the UK’s foremost agency for driving excellence and developing leadership in higher education, and represents a practical and informed stepping-stone into the world of academia, education and beyond.

What is so unique about it is the fact that this is the first and only programme of its kind delivered solely online. Having graduated students receive not only a professional postgraduate qualification but also attain international professional recognition as a Fellow of Higher Education (FHEA) awarded by Advance HE.

An innovative learning format of this programme is based on a concept of action-based learning, which focuses on assessment entirely through a written assignment and challenges students to apply pedagogical theory from varied global perspectives to the classroom.

This programme will encourage students to utilize international educational frameworks to design lessons, set assignments and decide on learning outcomes that can be applied to their own teaching space. By the end of your studies, you will be prepared to take your practice to the next level within the ever-changing higher education sector.
