Course Information

The Computer Science and Digitisation course is an innovative programme where computer science and the emerging digitisation technologies and challenges are perfectly in balance to form new business leaders in the computer science field. This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of computer science. You will learn the skills needed to support the products and the services emerging within the global industry of computer science. 

Students will develop the core skills required to further their academic and theoretical knowledge in IT. The curriculum emphasises computer science which is supported by professional tools, advanced simulation techniques literacy and the application of a variety of tasks to solve problems and make informed decisions and design solutions in the domain of IT.

Learning format

This programme is awarded by The University for the Creative Arts (UCA).

Our compulsory professional labs, workshops and local, as well as global networks, allow you to become the adaptable, resilient, globally-minded, confident, entrepreneurial, and service savvy professional so in demand in the contemporary workplace.

You can take 3 to 4 years to complete this programme. A four year programme includes foundation year.

 

Entry Requirements

Foundation (International Route):

  • Minimum age 17 (titles awarded upon completion of at least 11 years of schooling)
  • Academic Qualifications ECCTIS UK equivalent to GCSE
  • English Language requirements Official English Tests IELTS – minimum OS 5.0 (with min 4.5 in each component); Password test – minimum OS 5.0 (with min 4.5 in each component) PTE (Academic) – minimum OS of 46 (with min 41 in each component); LanguageCert International ESOL SELT OS B1 Achiever High Pass Duolingo test with an overall score of 95+.

BSc (Hons): 

  • Minimum age: 18 years old  (titles awarded upon completion of at least 12 years of schooling)
  • Academic Qualifications: a school leaving certificate that allows you to pursue higher education in Germany (e.g. Abitur, Fachhochschulreife, Matura or International Baccalaureate), or International school leaving certificates, or BTEC/National Diploma, or Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education. If you do not meet the above academic requirements, applicants with professional qualifications and/or 4 or more years of full-time work experience will be considered on an individual basis.
  • English language requirements:  Official English Tests IELTS – minimum OS 6.0 (with min 5.5 in each component); Password test – minimum OS 6.0 (with min 5.5 in each component); PTE (Academic) – minimum OS of 56 ( with min 51 in each component); TOEFL IBT OS 80 (Listening 17, Reading 18, Speaking 20, Writing 17); Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency OS 69 (min 162 in each component) LanguageCert International ESOL SELT OS B2 Communicator High Pass (min 33 in each component) Duolingo test with an overall score of 105.
