University of Essex Online - PG Cert Nursing

You will study in an interactive Virtual Learning Environment. With engaging, interactive course content, it is specifically designed for students to study online and informed by relevant pedagogic principles.

There are discussions, lecture casts and reading all available in an online format which can be accessed anytime and anywhere.

The PG Cert Nursing is made up of modules and, upon completion, is equal to a total of 60 credits.

For the academic entry route, you must have an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a health or social care related subject from an approved institution.

You must also be currently working in clinical practice as a registered nurse or licensed to practice as a nurse with a nursing regulator or appropriate licensing board.

For the work experience entry route, you must have at least three years’ post-qualification work experience as a registered nurse or be licensed to practice as a nurse with a nursing regulator or appropriate licensing board, supported by appropriate references.

If English is not your first language, your English ability should be equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.5. If you do not hold an IELTS or equivalent qualification, we will ask you to pass our free online English test.
