Course Information

The more popular sports discipline, the more commercialized it gets.  Over years sports and business were becoming tighter and tighter intertwined. Business involvement in the world of sport requires from companies to tailor their approach through commercial, corporate and retail perspectives. Sport management offers many interesting jobs and involves prestige, dynamics and opportunities to build up careers and networks.

This programme has been designed by leading academics in the University of Liverpool’s AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accredited Management School. It will cultivate the attributes needed to progress in management career, grow your own sports business or thrive within an existing role.

It will help you to build skills enabling to critically analyse sports organisations’ policies and practices within the dynamic sports business environment and empower you to make evidence-based decisions. You will be encouraged to expand your skills as a reflective leader who can make a key contribution to enabling sustainable sports organisations.

You will gather insight from the University of Liverpool’s network of experts experienced in working with international, national and community sports organisations, including football, horse racing and rugby, to address the global issues of health and wellbeing.

The culminating part of the programme is completing a work-based project or dissertation in which you will integrate programme learnings with the real-life problematic situation within your own organisation or the sports business environment. As an alternative, you can complete a research assignment addressing an aspect of the future of the sports management industry, featuring both team-based and individual projects.

This programme offers alternative awards, meaning you may opt for either a full Masters degree, or finish up with either Post Graduate Diploma or Post Graduate Certificate.
