Course Information

Studying a Mater’s programme at Business School Lausanne (BSL) gives you an opportunity to broaden your perspectives on business. Through its unique way of looking at business, BSL provides students with a more holistic view helping them to understand that business is about entrepreneurial leaders (you), effective management (your organization) and the business environment (international market) at the same time. This programme is based on understanding business as three pillars: Entrepreneurial Mindset and Skills, Global Mega Trends and Business Knowledge Skills.

Ar BSL students learn through combining global business methodologies and real-world examples they are being exposed to. This programme merges managerial and business methodologies preparing students to become strong managers and leaders on a global scale.

This degree is fully accredited and recognized by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), a specialized accrediting organization in the United States. The ACBSP accreditation, which covers approximately 1260 higher education institutions internationally, ensures that BSL degrees are globally recognized and valued. Upon successful graduation, you will receive the following academic degree: Master of International Business with concentration in Entrepreneurial Leadership, Finance or Sustainability.

Founded in 1987 by Dr John Hobbs Business School Lausanne is based in Switzerland, With a diverse student community and qualified and experienced faculty members the school is proud of its co-creative approach to learning, focusing on topics as broad as leadership, systems thinking, economics and business-driven sustainability.
The school is specialized in providing business and management education with a focus on sustainability. The school offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. BSL's programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.

 

Learning format

Masters on International Business offers three concentrations to choose from:

Entrepreneurial Leadership Concentration – aimed at future entrepreneurs with a strong aspiration to stand out from the crowd and become a leader more than a manager. Through this concentration students will be able to sharpen their soft skills, develop expertise to inspire and motivate others to reach their maximum performance, encourage new ideas, develop strategies and in general learn how to set yourself apart from other business leaders and at the same time build and run your own business.

Finance Concentration – aimed at students driven by analytics concentrating on finance as one of the main business components. Through this concentration, students will learn not only how to balance the sheets and budgets but also how to gain proficiency in leading projects with firm financial skills.

Sustainability Concentration – aimed at students wishing to experience what social entrepreneurship is. Through this concentration you will learn how to instigate and run the business transformation required for sustainable business, how to quickly react and adapt to rapid changes, initiate and implement sustainability.

  • Quantitative Skills and Computer Science: Research Methods, Quantitative Methods for Business, Computational Skills, Data Analysis and AI for Business

Concentrations:

  • Entrepreneurial Leadership: Marketing Strategy, Business Modeling, Strategic Management, Leadership and Management Skills, Systems Thinking, Negotiations and Sales, Venture Funding
  • Finance: Financial Markets I & II, Behavioral Finance, Corporate Finance I & II, Financial Reporting and Regulations, International Finance
  • Sustainability: Sustainable Business Strategy, Circular Economy, Ethics of Innovation, Gender Diversity and Inclusion in Business, Sustainable Supply Chain Management Sustainability, Responsible Investing Towards Sustainability, Solving Big Problems
 

Entry requirements

In order to initiate enrollment process the following documents are required:

- Academic transcripts, including a copy of university degree,

- Proof of English proficiency (minimum IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90 or TOEIC 800 or Duolingo 110 or Language Cert - Low C1 (Expert Level)),

- CV and letter of motivation,

- Two recommendation letters

Once these are submitted admissions team will inform you about the eligibility of your profile application status. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed, either on campus or via Skype or phone. During the interview applicants’ motivation, professional experience, potential and soft skills will be assessed. Once the Admissions Committee will make the decision it will be communicated to the applicant-this process takes a week.

A non-refundable administration fee of 1’900 CHF is required upon successful admission to reserve a seat in the program. Upon receiving payment confirmation, students will be provided with Full Acceptance letter which confirms their seat in the programme.
